Introduction-Writing 303

When I saw this course listed, I knew that it was something that I would be interested in.  This course has been enlightening to say the least. Learning the different reasons why people write for the public and the different forms this writing can take, taught me how powerful the written word and language can be. By having the opportunity to write about what we learned and/or what we believe, we are learning how to express ourselves.

One of the requirements that took me a while to get comfortable with was giving and receiving feedback from my fellow peers.  I have definitely learned a lot from my peers, as we analyzed the readings and discussed our responses.  This helped me to better understand the reading from several points of view and helped me to critically analyze my own work prior to submitting it.

I've also learned a lot about myself through our assignments, and about the issues that I am passionate about.  I've learned that having the ability to write effectively equals power.  I have power in which I can and should take action, if I feel that change needs to take place. Not only can I initiate change, but I can  leave this semester more knowledgeable, and more INSPIRED.
