Freshman-Definitional Essay

Reflecting on our first project, the definitional essay, I realized that arriving at a definition for public writing wasn't very simple, as there are various ways to describe it.  Prior to this course, I would have never perceived public writing in the broader sense of promotional materials (bumper stickers, t-shirts, etc), Facebook posts, and graffiti. I had perceived public writing as being more in line with only professional, published materials.  

I think this assignment was an integral part of this course a it helped us to demonstrate a true understanding of our course subject.
